Silver Trowel

A silver trowel encased in presentation box used to lay the foundation stone of church in 1890. Engraved with names of William Hague, Architect and Robert Cullen Builder. Inscription reads: " Most Rev. Dr O' Doherty, Lord Bishop of Derry on the occasion of his laying the foundation stone of the new Church of Mary Immaculate Strabane on the feast of the patronage of the Blessed Virgin Sunday 9 November 1890 Very Rev. Hugh O'Hagan P. P. V.F.”
